The Refugee Academy of VU Amsterdam is looking for a part-time intern for the academic year 2017/2018. The internship at the Refugee Academy provides an opportunity to get insight into current developments in research on refugee-issues, get acquainted with scholarly and societal networks in the field, and to organize and actively participate in events aimed at the enhancement of durable coalitions between research and practice on the issue.

The Refugee Academy of VU University is an Academic Collaborative Centre aimed at co-creation and collaboration between academic and societal stakeholders working on refugee reception and integration. The intern is preferably someone in her/his second or last year of undergraduate studies with a background in social sciences. The intern should have a demonstrable interest in the topics of refugee reception and integration. Additionally, candidates should possess good editing skills, proficiency in English and Dutch, communication skills and a talent for organization.
Description of Position
We offer a part-time internship of one day (or two half-days) a week for a minimum duration of 6 months. The intern will start as soon as possible. Tasks are both administrative and organizational and include communication via social media and e-mail with our network, setting up and maintaining the website, and helping to organize meetings and events. The internship cannot be remunerated, but may be recognized by your university for credit (ECTS) if an internship is compulsory in your study program.
